Final Auction Price: TBD! AUCTION STARTS 07/19!
The Colt Grizzly is one of the rarest double action revolvers ever produced by Colt’s Custom Shop. Introduced in the mid 1990s in an extremely limited production run of only approximately 500 revolvers, the Grizzly combines the robust King Cobra frame with a Python style full lug barrel, factory Mag-Na-Port porting, and an unfluted cylinder. Built for serious .357 Magnum performance while retaining Colt’s renowned fit and finish, the Grizzly has become one of the most sought after modern Colt revolvers among collectors.

Our Assessment
Among Colt’s Custom Shop offerings of the 1990s, few revolvers are as distinctive or as scarce as the Grizzly. Produced in an estimated run of only 500 examples, the Grizzly blended several of Colt’s finest design elements into a single revolver. Built on the heavy duty King Cobra frame, it received a full length vent rib barrel inspired by the legendary Python, an unfluted cylinder for additional strength and unique styling, and factory Mag-Na-Port barrel porting to help tame full power .357 Magnum recoil.
While it shares visual similarities with the Python, the Grizzly is its own model entirely, combining the rugged strength of the King Cobra action with Custom Shop enhancements intended for both serious shooters and Colt enthusiasts. The result is a revolver that is exceptionally durable while remaining refined enough to stand among Colt’s most collectible modern productions.
This 1994 example remains in Fine condition with approximately 93 percent of its original stainless finish, a bright bore, and properly functioning action. Complete with its factory case, matching sleeve, and paperwork, it represents an increasingly difficult Colt Custom Shop revolver to acquire. Whether destined for a Colt collection or appreciated as one of the finest factory produced .357 Magnum revolvers of the modern era, the Grizzly remains a standout piece of Colt history.
