Sights / Optics
The top of the receiver incorporates an integral optics rail showing light use.
A short section of accessory rail is installed toward the front of the handguard.
Offset Magpul MBUS flip up sights are fitted to the rifle. The front uses an adjustable post protected by two ears. The rear incorporates dual flip apertures between protective ears.

A Strike Industries grip with an integral fin was installed to configure the rifle for California compliance at the time it was cataloged.
An Atlas bipod is mounted to the aluminum handguard. Its legs extend to approximately 9 inches. The rubber feet exhibit wear.
The handguard shows small, light scrapes. The Magpul PRS stock has light scuffs and additional light scraping along its underside. The recoil pad exhibits light wear.
Length of pull is adjustable from approximately 14 to 15 inches from the front of the trigger to the rear of the ribbed rubber recoil pad.

The screw heads remain sharp and the markings are clear.

Bore & Mechanics
Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp, deep rifling. Light fouling is present with no erosion observed. In the original evaluator’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly during mechanical evaluation. The rifle was not test fired.

Our Assessment
JP Enterprises occupies an interesting position in the development of the modern precision oriented AR platform. Long before large frame semi automatic rifles became commonplace in the precision rifle market, JP was building competition and performance focused rifles around the idea that the operating system could be refined well beyond a conventional service rifle configuration.
The LRP-07, or Long Range Precision, applied that philosophy to the .308 class semi automatic rifle.
According to JP Enterprises, the LRP-07 was developed specifically to address shortcomings the company identified in existing .308 platforms while retaining handling characteristics closer to an AR-15. Rather than treating the rifle simply as an enlarged version of a smaller AR pattern firearm, JP designed the platform around its intended operating system and precision role.
One of the LRP-07’s most recognizable features is its left side charging handle. The design provides additional leverage and allows the action to be manipulated from the side rather than relying on a conventional rear mounted AR style charging handle. Operational wear visible around the charging handle and its receiver cutout on this example reflects the distinctive arrangement.
The rifle was also designed around JP’s Low Mass Operating System, or LMOS, as part of the company’s effort to control the recoil characteristics of the .308 platform. The objective was not merely reducing component weight, but tuning the operating system to produce the handling characteristics JP wanted from a precision semi automatic rifle.
Equally important is the barrel. This example uses a 20 inch JP Cryogenic SuperMatch barrel with a 1:10 twist rate, terminating in a JP muzzle brake. The bright bore retains sharp, deep rifling with no observed erosion and was rated 10 out of 10 during cataloging.

JP specifically used a relatively narrow 2 inch diameter tube on the LRP-07 rather than the larger handguards commonly encountered on early .308 semi automatic platforms. The Magpul PRS stock complements the rifle’s long range configuration with an adjustable comb and buttplate. Length of pull can be adjusted from approximately 14 to 15 inches.
