Our Assessment
The New Ithaca Double is widely regarded as one of the strongest and most reliable American side by side shotgun actions of the early twentieth century. Production ran from 1926 through 1948 with approximately 45,000 units manufactured across all grades and gauges. This Grade 2 example is chambered in the highly desirable .410 gauge and fitted with 26 inch barrels choked Full and Full, making it a refined upland or clays shotgun with classic balance and handling.
With good bores, tight lockup, and honest wear consistent with age, this NID represents a solid opportunity for collectors and shooters alike. Small bore American doubles continue to grow in demand, and this example stands as a fine representation of Ithaca’s craftsmanship during the interwar period.
