Our Assessment
Few military sidearms have achieved the legendary reputation enjoyed by the Swiss SIG P210. Originally developed following the Second World War and adopted by the Swiss Army as the Pistole 49, the P210 quickly earned worldwide recognition for its extraordinary accuracy, impeccable machining, and exceptional reliability. Built to standards more commonly associated with fine Swiss watches than military firearms, each pistol received an extraordinary level of hand fitting rarely seen in production handguns.
Much of the P210’s legendary performance comes from its unique internal slide rail design. Rather than riding outside the frame like the Browning-inspired pistols that dominate the modern market, the P210’s slide rides inside full length frame rails, creating an exceptionally tight slide to frame fit that contributes to its remarkable mechanical accuracy.
The P210-6 variant became particularly popular among target shooters thanks to its refined sights, superb trigger, and outstanding balance. Even decades after its introduction, the Swiss P210 continues to be regarded by many collectors and competitive shooters as one of the most accurate service pistols ever manufactured.
This example is made even more desirable by the inclusion of a factory serial matching .22 LR conversion kit. Complete with its own matching box, test target, and magazine, the conversion kit dramatically expands the pistol’s versatility while representing an accessory package that is increasingly difficult to find intact. Combined with the original factory box, paperwork, and approximately 98 percent original finish, this represents an exceptional collector’s package that would be equally at home in a premier SIG collection or on the target range.
