Our Assessment

The Sharps Model 1874 remains one of the most celebrated single shot rifle designs in American firearms history, known for its strength, accuracy, and unmistakable silhouette. The “Old Reliable” marking became synonymous with quality and performance, particularly among buffalo hunters and long range marksmen of the 19th century.

This C. Sharps Arms .22 LR version brings that same visual appeal and falling block action to a far more accessible rimfire platform. The 24 inch heavy barrel, traditional sights, and strong bore make it an appealing rifle for target shooting, informal competition, or simply enjoying a classic action type without the expense of centerfire ammunition. In Fine condition with only light wear, it would make a handsome addition to a single shot collection or a rewarding rifle for the range.
