Our Assessment
The Colt Single Action Army is perhaps the definitive revolver of the American West, serving the U.S. Army from 1873 into the early 20th century and later becoming an enduring symbol of frontier history through film and television. Although Colt discontinued the model during World War II, renewed public fascination with western firearms in the 1950s led to the return of the SAA in what collectors now call second generation production.
This 1967 revolver is a classic example of that revival era. Chambered in .45 Colt and fitted with the long 7 1/2 inch barrel, it carries the look and feel that made the model famous. With matching cylinder, strong case colors, and a bright bore, it offers both collector appeal and practical shootability. For anyone building a Colt collection or seeking a traditional Single Action Army with real period charm, this is a very attractive second generation example.
