Stock Configuration & Condition
The shotgun is fitted with two-piece checkered walnut stocks. The beavertail forend features wide finger grooves, while the buttstock incorporates a palm swell pistol grip, adjustable Monte Carlo comb, and adjustable Kick-Eez recoil pad.
The wood shows scattered handling marks, light scuffs, tiny nicks, and draglines. There is finish crazing on the right side of the buttstock along with finish wear on both sides of the forend above the checkering. The checkering remains well defined with only light wear.
Current measurements:

The Kick-Eez recoil pad remains extremely soft but has begun to degrade with slight tackiness and minor material loss at the left heel.
Overall stock condition: Very Good.
Also included is an additional walnut buttstock featuring a Monte Carlo comb and checkered pistol grip. It shows only minor handling marks and remains in Excellent condition.
Finish & Overall Condition
Type of Finish: Matte black barrel with blued receiver and sideplates
Finish Originality: Original
This shotgun retains approximately 90 percent of its original finish. The receiver exhibits finish thinning along the edges and has developed a noticeable plum hue. Light surface oxidation and extremely faint pitting are present on portions of the sideplates. The barrel shows a few freckles of oxidation along with scattered light marks and draglines that have lightly thinned the finish in places.
Markings remain clear and screw heads retain strong slots, though the rear trigger guard screw may be a replacement.
Overall condition: Very Good.
Bore & Mechanics
Bore Condition: Bright with only a very small amount of faint erosion near the muzzle. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9 out of 10.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun is equipped with an ejector. The safety has been intentionally deactivated, a common modification on dedicated competition trap guns where shooters prefer to eliminate unnecessary manipulation between stations. This shotgun was not test fired.

Additional walnut buttstock
Owner’s manual

Our Assessment
The Remington Model 90-T occupies a unique place among American competition shotguns. Unlike many production trap guns, the 90-T was purpose-built from the ground up for serious ATA competition. Rather than manufacturing it in-house, Remington partnered with Kolar Arms—already respected for premium competition shotguns—to build a firearm capable of competing with the finest dedicated trap guns available.
The result was a remarkably soft-shooting platform featuring an elongated forcing cone, ported 34-inch barrel, tall ventilated rib, adjustable comb, and outstanding overall balance. These characteristics helped reduce felt recoil while promoting smooth target acquisition and consistent follow-through, attributes that made the 90-T a favorite among accomplished trap shooters.
This example remains in Very Good condition with approximately 90 percent of its original finish. While it shows honest signs of competitive use, the mechanical condition remains solid and it includes a highly desirable accessory package consisting of its original serial-matching box, Warwick fitted hard case, spare buttstock, manual, tools, and sight inserts.
Because production lasted only a few years, the Model 90-T has developed a loyal following among both competitors and collectors. For shooters seeking one of the finest American-made dedicated trap guns—or collectors looking to add an increasingly scarce Kolar-built Remington to their collection—this 90-T represents an excellent opportunity.
