Our Assessment
Surgeon Rifles built its reputation on extremely rigid actions and premium precision rifle systems intended for serious long range use. The Remedy XL reflects that approach, using the company’s large 1581XL action to support the .338 Lapua cartridge, a chambering long favored for extreme distance work and heavy hitting performance.
The McMillan A5 stock, integral 30 MOA rail, muzzle brake, and quality glass make this a highly capable package right out of the case. While not the exact configuration built for the military Precision Sniper Rifle trials, it shares the same core strengths that made Surgeon a respected name among precision rifle shooters: strength, repeatability, and refined machining.
This example remains in excellent overall condition with strong bore, light wear, and a quality optic already installed. For a shooter seeking a complete .338 Lapua precision setup, this is a substantial and highly capable rifle.
